BOOSTER CLUB MEETING The next monthly meeting of the Parkland Football Booster Club is Monday, June 2nd at 7:00pm at PHS. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. TRACK MEETS The 2008 season has come to an end. Once again the PFBC operated the consession stand for all the home track meets. Many thanks to our volunteers that came out and lent a helping hand and brought a baked good, or pasta salad to sell to the crowd. The booster club earned over $3789 of gross sales. Again, Thank you for your support. GOLF MEET Mr Gristick has been doing a great job coordinating our 1st Parkland Football Booster Club Golf Tournament. As of Monday's meeting, we had 25 foursomes to golf. We could always use a couple more, in addition to Hole/Tee Sponsors. In addition, we still need a business sponsor for the longest drive $250, Cook out $500, Beverages $300 and awards $350. If you know of any businesses or individuals that would be interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact Mr Gristick. Susquehanna Bank is sponsoring the 2 hole in one awards. $10,000 and $2500....... With the price of gas, $10,000 can fill the tank..... The golf meet is Sunday, May 18th. We need 8 additional adults to help with running the event. Senior football players or trainers are encouraged to come out and help for the day. If you could help lend a hand for this event, please contact Mr. Gristick. Lastly, we're looking for donations of baked goods for the after golf cook out. If you could donate a baked good, please drop it off between 4 and 5pm at Shepherd Hills Golf Club. RADIO BROADCAST Once again, Parkland Football will be broadcast on the radio. We're looking into the Oct. 11th varsity game vs Central. Susquehanna Bank will cover the cost of broadcasting. Any additional advertisers will be profit for the booster club. Last year, we made over $1400 on this event. Let's start talking to our local business owners and politicians to advertise on the Parkland Football Radio Network.....(we should have our own network, just kidding). SPRING PRACTICE Varsity spring practice begins on May 19th. It's only 16 weeks away until the start of another season.......Check out the website www.parklandtrojanfootball.com and click on the helmet towards the bottom. The calendar for spring and summer practices is listed. CHEERLEADERS The Parkland Cheerleading squad has elected to form their own Cheerleading Booster Club. This decision will enable the Cheerleading Boosters to treat all their squads equally. We wish them all the luck with there new club. |
